Hard to believe it is already December 2025. There are still 30 days to complete as many of your 2025 goals as you can. It is also time to start planning your 2026 goals. To get inspired, list all of your major accomplishments and goals achieved in 2025. Next answer the 7 important questions (see below). I like to start doing this towards the latter half of this month. This allows time to seriously contemplate and refine your new goals so you are definite about them before committing to a January 1st, 2026 start.
Inspirational Quotes / Questions“The key to wisdom is this – constant and frequent questioning, for by doubting we are led to question, by questioning we arrive at the truth.” – Peter Abelard.
"Judge a man by his questions rather than his answers." – Voltaire.
“The only true wisdom is in knowing that you know nothing.” – Socrates.
"There are no right answers to wrong questions." – Ursula K. Le Guin.
“Life is an unanswered question, but let’s still believe in the dignity and importance of the question.” – Tennessee Williams.
"In all affairs, it's a healthy thing now and then to hang a question mark on the things you have long taken for granted." – Bertrand Russell. Reflection on 2025Looking back at the goals we set for 2025 and other things we've accomplished, I can say that it was a good year.
HEALTH AND FITNESS: We improved our nutrition in 2025, resulting in healthy weight loss. Basically we have reduced the amount of ultra processed food in our diet. I've personally stopped eating "treats" with meals after lunch and dinner and now enjoy on special occasions. We also started playing (and fell in love with) Pickleball. We are playing two sessions a week totalling 4 hours of challenging Pickleball. There has been a measurable increase in our respiratory / cardio fitness as a result!. But more importantly, it is a fun way to get/keep in good physical shape! This was a specific goal to find a sport that Kathy and I would enjoy doing together. It's also great socially to be playing a fun sport with other like minded people. HOBBIES AND PASSIONS: We travelled to see a Chris Stapleton concert which we made into a couples getaway. We also went to a performance of one of my favourite guitar players, Joe Bonamassa. Music is one of my main hobbies and passions. Another musical highlight was performing with my high school band "Cartune" for the first time in 40 years at a local club. This was a big highlight of the year for me.
TRAVEL & ADVENTURE: We took a two week trip with our friends starting in Switzerland and continued to Germany for a river cruise up the Rhine river to Amsterdam. Loved it! We also took a 10 day family trip to Madeira (an island owned by Portugal). We rented an amazing AirBNB for our children and their family. Our 3 month old grandson even went! This was another fantastic event for 2025.
LIFESTYLE: We completed significant improvements in renovating our cottage. The interior was fully insulated and shiplapped and has resulted in a beautiful transformation which we will enjoy for years to come. Rather than hiring a contractor, this was a DIY project!
As you transition to 2026, take time to reflect on your completed 2025 goals and other accomplishments. You may just be surprised at all the things you've achieved!
