Hello, Goal-Getters!

Welcome to this month’s 100 Goals Club newsletter! I've been thinking a lot lately about the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how it will shape our future.

Many people are predicting that millions of jobs and careers will be replaced by AI in the next 5-10 years. Some of the highest risk jobs of becoming obsolete are:

Data Entry Clerks: AI automates data processing, reducing manual input needs.

Customer Service Representatives (Basic): Chatbots handle 60% of queries, cutting basic roles.

Bookkeepers and Basic Accountants: AI tools like QuickBooks automate financial tasks.

Administrative Assistants (Routine): AI manages scheduling and emails efficiently.

Telemarketers: AI-driven marketing replaces script-based outreach.

Legal Assistants (Routine): AI automates contract reviews and research.

This list is just a start. So many other jobs are at risk.

As AI reshapes the workplace, it’s critical to plan your career strategically. Predictions suggest AI could displace even “great” careers, but it also opens new opportunities. This newsletter explores how to align the 100 Goals Club's ten recommended career life goals (51–60) with AI’s impact, offering tools to assess risks to your current or future career and highlighting up-and-coming AI-driven careers to consider.

This newsletter in fact was assisted by my AI assistant, GROK.

Let’s dive in and future-proof your career!

Good Quotes

AI is not just a disruptor; it’s a tool to amplify your skills, creativity, and impact. As thought leaders emphasize, mastering AI is critical to staying relevant. Here are some quotes from AI pioneers to inspire you:

“AI is the new electricity. Those who learn to harness it will power their careers forward, while those who ignore it risk being left behind.” – Andrew Ng, AI expert and co-founder of Coursera

“Embracing AI tools in your work isn’t optional—it’s the key to unlocking new opportunities and staying competitive in an AI-driven economy.” – Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft

“AI amplifies human potential. Use it to automate routine tasks and focus on what makes you uniquely valuable in your career.” – Ginni Rometty, former CEO of IBM

“Mastering AI is like learning to code a generation ago—those who do will shape the future of work.” – Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI

“AI is a tool for human ingenuity. Professionals who integrate it into their workflows will redefine what’s possible in their fields.” – Fei-Fei Li, Co-Director of Stanford’s Human-Centered AI Institute

“In the AI era, your career success depends on using AI to enhance your creativity and decision-making, not compete against it.” – Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce

These insights underscore that AI is a partner, not a replacement, for those who adapt.

Thinking About AI and Your Career

AI is transforming industries, automating repetitive tasks, and creating new roles that demand creativity, adaptability, and tech-savvy skills. While some jobs may be at risk, proactive planning can turn AI into an ally. Below, we tie the ten career goals at the 100 Goals Club to AI, provide actionable steps to assess AI’s risks to your career, and suggest five AI-embracing careers to explore.

AI and 10 Recommended Career Life Goals in the AI Era

51. Do a Career Assessment

AI makes self-awareness more crucial than ever. Assess your skills, interests, and values to identify roles AI can’t easily replace, like those requiring creativity or emotional intelligence.

AI Tip: Use AI-powered tools like LinkedIn Skills Insights to analyze your strengths and match them to evolving job markets.

Action: Complete a career assessment and note which of your skills are AI-resistant.

52. Get an Education

Lifelong learning is your shield against AI displacement. Focus on skills AI can’t replicate, like critical thinking, or technical skills like AI development.

AI Tip: Enroll in AI-related courses (e.g., machine learning on Coursera) to stay competitive.

Action: Sign up for one course this month to upskill in an AI-relevant area.

53. Find or Develop Your Passion

Passion drives resilience. AI may automate routine tasks, but your unique interests—whether in storytelling, problem-solving, or innovation—can guide you to AI-proof roles.

AI Tip: Experiment with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT for brainstorming) to explore passions that complement technology.

Action: Try a side project using AI tools to spark or refine your passion.

54. Join a Professional Association

Associations provide insights into AI’s impact on your industry and networking opportunities to pivot if needed.

AI Tip: Seek groups focused on AI ethics or innovation.

Action: Join an association and attend an AI-focused webinar or event.

55. Be a Good Employee

AI values adaptability. Excel by embracing AI tools to boost productivity while showcasing human skills like collaboration.

AI Tip: Learn to use AI-driven workplace tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to enhance your work.

Action: Ask your manager how AI is being integrated into your role and suggest one way to use it.

56. Be a Good Leader

Leadership requires human judgment, which AI can’t fully replicate. Use AI for data-driven decisions but lead with empathy.

AI Tip: Leverage AI analytics for team insights but prioritize human connection.

Action: Mentor a colleague or lead an AI-related project to build leadership skills.

57. Be an Expert in Something

Specialization in AI-resistant or AI-enhanced fields (e.g., AI ethics, cybersecurity) sets you apart.

AI Tip: Deepen expertise in areas where AI is a tool, not a replacement.

Action: Read a book or take a course on an AI-adjacent skill, like data science.

58. Become an Authority Figure

Establish credibility by sharing AI-informed insights via blogs or talks.

AI Tip: Use AI to analyze industry trends and create compelling content.

Action: Post one LinkedIn article on how AI is shaping your field.

59. Be Your Own Boss

Entrepreneurship thrives in AI’s disruption. Start a business leveraging AI (e.g., AI consulting).

AI Tip: Use AI tools for marketing or QuickBooks AI for financials.

Action: Draft a one-page business plan for an AI-supported venture.

60. Create Multiple Income Sources

AI can enable side hustles (e.g., AI-generated content creation) to diversify income.

AI Tip: Explore AI-driven platforms like Upwork for freelance opportunities.

Action: Research one AI-enabled side hustle and take a first step, like creating a profile.

Assessing AI’s Risk to Your Career

AI’s potential to displace jobs is real—studies estimate 85 million jobs may be automated by 2030, but 97 million new roles could emerge. There are hundreds of good videos on You Tube about the role of AI in the future. To stay ahead, assess your career’s vulnerability with these five actionable steps:

1. Analyze Task Automation: List your job’s core tasks. Use resources to check which are repetitive (e.g., data entry) and thus AI-vulnerable. Focus on developing non-automatable skills like creativity.

2. Research Industry Trends: Study AI adoption in your field via industry reports or X posts. For example, customer service roles face chatbot automation, while healthcare roles resist due to empathy needs.

3. Evaluate Skill Transferability: Identify transferable skills (e.g., problem-solving) that apply to AI-resistant roles. Take a skills assessment on platforms like SkillSyncer to see where you fit.

4. Experiment with AI Tools: Test AI tools relevant to your job (e.g., Grammarly for writers). If they outperform you in key tasks, consider upskilling or pivoting. Document your findings.

5. Seek Expert Insights: Connect with mentors or professionals via LinkedIn or associations to learn how AI is reshaping your role. Ask: “What skills are becoming essential in our industry?”

Up-and-Coming AI-Embracing Careers

If you’re considering a career change, explore these growing fields that leverage AI:

AI Ethics Specialist: Ensure AI systems are fair and transparent. Requires skills in ethics, policy, and tech.

Machine Learning Engineer: Design AI models for industries like healthcare or finance. Needs coding and data science skills.

AI-Driven Cybersecurity Analyst: Protect systems using AI to detect threats. Requires cybersecurity knowledge and AI tool proficiency.

Data Scientist (AI Focus): Analyze data with AI to drive business decisions. Strong demand in tech and retail.

AI Product Manager: Oversee AI tool development, bridging tech and business needs. Requires project management and AI literacy.

Each of these positions have the potential to earn a salary of greater than $ 100,000 USD per year.

Three Key Generalized AI Tools/Applications

If you are not currently using an AI tool, it's time to start. Here are three of the top generalized AI tools or applications that you should know about and consider using:

CHAT GPT (or Similar Large Language Models, e.g., Grok, Claude). Kathy uses Chat GPS and I use GROK from XAi. They are both amazing tools for asking questions and doing research. We use them almost daily to help with our travel and renovation decisions.

What It Is: A conversational AI model for generating text, answering questions, brainstorming ideas, and automating tasks like drafting emails or reports.

Why It’s Important: Its versatility makes it valuable for ideation, learning, and productivity across roles, from writing to problem-solving.

MICROSOFT COPILOT (or AI-Integrated Productivity Suites, e.g., Google Gemini)

What It Is: An AI assistant integrated into Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Teams) for automating tasks like document editing, data analysis, and meeting summaries.

Why It’s Important: Enhances workplace efficiency, making it critical for being a good employee (55) or leader (56) in AI-augmented environments.

How to Use/Assess: Try it for automating Excel data analysis or drafting presentations. Assess if your workplace uses Microsoft 365 and if Copilot’s features save time. Typically included in enterprise subscriptions (~$30/user/month).

CANVA'S AI Tools (e.g., Magic Studio)

What It Is: AI-powered design tools for creating visuals, presentations, or marketing materials, with features like text-to-image generation and content editing.

Why It’s Important: Democratizes professional-quality content creation, ideal for entrepreneurs (59) or authority figures (58) building personal brands.

Career Relevance: Supports creating professional materials for networking (54), authority-building (58), or side hustles (60).

These tools were chosen for their broad applicability, ease of use, and relevance to career development in the AI era. They empower users to enhance productivity, creativity, and marketability. These are three of the more important AI tools being used now to stay current.

Autonomous Cars

As many of you know, Kathy and I purchased our Tesla Model 3 in 2019. We paid for the Full Self Driving (FSD) software at the time. The only issue was that the software was no where near able to be deemed Full Self Driving back then. The car wouldn't even stop at stop signs or stop lights.

Fast forward 5 years and now our car literally drives us 95% of the time in full autonomous mode, no hands on the wheel, but under the context of "Supervised" full self driving. It is truly amazing how far this software has advanced due to Artificial Intelligence advancements.

On June 12, 2025, this capability will be launched in Austin Texas as true Full Self Driving (no driver in the car), on a trial basis until the technology has proven that it can be released wider.

My expectation is that by the end of 2026, I will be able to take a nap, or watch a Netflix Series while the car takes us to visit family or we are taking a road vacation. Cant wait!!

This is another example at the pace at which technology is changing (improving) our life.
