Best self help books

The best self help books will alter the course of your life . .

Most people never read another non-fiction book after they graduate from school.    Don’t let that be you.    It is said that there are really only two things that change people . . . the books that you read and the people that you meet.

Reading self help books by people who understand what it takes to be successful, and who have already led amazing lives, are invaluable on your success journey.   What books should you read?   Below is my list of suggested best self help books which I’ve personally read:

  • The Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz
  • Younger Next Year
  • Rich Dad Poor Dad
  • The One Minute Millionaire
  • Double Your Income Doing What You Love by Raymond Aaron
  • Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
  • The Blue Zones, a book about longevity
  • The Happiness Equation
  • The Millionaire Next Door
  • Body for Life

By reading a great book by an influential person, you can actually get into the mind of that great person and learn all about what they were thinking, and their advice for you.   Some powerful advice that Robin Sharma’s dad (the father of one of the great, living, self-help gurus) told him was, “Cut back on your rent, or cut back on what you spend on food, but never worry about investing money in a good book.”  It just takes one idea discovered in a single book to completely change your life.

Try and devote at least 20 minutes a day to reading.  An hour is even better.  If you truly want to be a leader and live a goal inspired life, you need to make time to read self help.  Some of the busiest and most successful people in the world take time to read 1 hour a day, including Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, and even Barrack Obama, while he was serving as President of the USA.

Make it your mission to find the authors and speakers who will help accelerate your goal attainment and improve your life.   Go to any library or book store, and you will find a self help books section. Look for the best self help books!

This is one one my personal favourite self help books. Make this one of your top personal development goals to read.

In addition to this, there are hundreds of autobiographies of famous, living (and deceased) people who have written their life stories, from which you can learn immensely.  These can be even more inspiring.

I have read many of these best self help books but not all of them.  It is my conviction that for those of us that want for a better life, there is no better way to get inspired than by reading and listening to programs by these types of authors and speakers, and to the thousands of people that they have inspired to lead better lives as a result.  In my opinion reading self-help books is so important, it is the number one goal in this list of 10 personal development goals.

You can literally find the best self help books and programs to help target every one of these 100 life goals, should you want or need help in what to do next.

Did you know that more than 80% of people have not bought a book in the past year, or that more than 70% have not in the past 5 years? More than 40% of college graduates never read another book in their lifetime.   The percentages are even higher for non-fiction books.  With these kinds of statistics, you can see how easy it would be to set yourself apart from the average person just by reading books, especially of the self-help type.

If you really don’t like reading books, listening to pod casts are an excellent way to learn the same information.

Suggested Target Goal:  Read 10 best self help books.

Outrageous Goal:  Read 100+ best self help books and non-fiction books (Never stop reading.).
