64 - Go on a camping adventure trip . . .
get close to nature and the outdoors!

Reason for this camping adventure trip goal:  Camping is about getting close to nature with an outdoor experience that you will never forget. There is nothing like sleeping in a tent outside and cozying up in a warm sleeping bag, falling asleep to the sounds of nature.  If you are able to borrow some gear or purchase second hand gear, camping is more economical than staying in other accommodations, and the gear can be used over and over again.

Camping is something traditionally done during your younger years.  Once we get spoiled by the modern luxury of a hotel, it can be hard to return to the basics of camping.

6 top reasons for taking a camping  adventure!

Benefits of a camping adventure include:

  1. Being totally unplugged. Without modern conveniences like electricity and computer screens, you'll return to a simpler time and back to our human roots.
  2. Being good for your mental health. Producing good sleep while reducing overall stress levels, and improving your mood are just two of many mental health benefits you'll receive. The quietness of nature will come to life in a way that will surprise you.
  3. Being inspired by a sense of awe, watching sunsets and gazing at the stars, good for recharging your batteries
  4. Inhaling fresh air from all the trees and greenery that produce oxygen. Trees are a major source for production of oxygen. Breath it all in. You will have a new appreciation for clean air.
  5. Bonding time with friends and family, telling stories over a camp fire while roasting marshmallows
  6. Getting out of the more sedentary lifestyle.  Modern life is accompanied by a sedentary lifestyle for too many of us. A camping adventure trip will get you moving in a way that will revive your body.

The beauty of camping is that it is a return to basic activity; you enjoy physical activity with people you care about, in an environment that will make you feel alive again and connected with nature.

Kathy and I on a camping / portaging trip in Algonquin Park in northern Ontario, before we were married.

My wife, Kathy, and our friends, Gary and Sue, experienced Algonquin Park together during our early courting days, and we created some great memories.  We put the canoe on the top of heads, with a life jacket to cushion the weight of the canoe.  I'm not sure if this was a recognized technique for transporting a canoe or not, but it's the way we transitioned from one lake to another.

Suggested Goal(s):    Go on a 3-day camping adventure trip in a national park.
Your Outrageous Goal:   Go on a 10-day camping adventure trip.
